Labour Day is a public holiday in Nigeria that is celebrated on May 1st every year. It is also known as Workers’ Day or May Day. It is a day to honour and recognize the hard work and dedication of the Nigerian workforce . Labour Day has its origins in the international labour movement that fought for workers’ rights, such as fair wages, reasonable working hours and safe working conditions. On this day, workers usually hold rallies, marches and parades to express their solidarity and demand better working conditions.
